Christmas Decorating
There are many things to consider when you are decorating for the holidays. You might consider the neighborhood, the scheme, and how you are going to decorate.
Some neighborhoods like to get together and agree on how they will decorate for the holiday. Some HOAs will not allow you to put the big Christmas decorations out in the front yard of your home. If you have an oversized Santa and sleigh for the front yard and want to put it out this year, be sure your home owner’s association will not fine you. This might sound silly but if you have ridiculous neighbors they may complain about your decorations. Always talk to the neighbors if you belong to a home owner’s association.
When you decorate for Christmas most people like to match their color scheme inside of the house and outside of the house. This looks nicer when people come to your home to find a matching color scheme. You can find decorations for Christmas all over the place. You should be sure the Christmas trees match the scheme of the home too. It would look very weird to have a bright red, gold, and green decorated home and a silver and blue decorated tree.
Many people like to buy the artificial Christmas trees each year and do their decorating around the color schemes of the tree. You might choose to do this if you aren’t sure of the colors to go with this year. The best solution is to find a predecorated tree with all of the ornaments and lights on it and then go with the scheme. This can save you a lot of time if you are pressed for time during the holiday season this year.
Lights on the outside of your home can look really good if you choose to put them up the right way. You might have many trees in the yard you want to decorate with lighting as artificial Christmas trees. This can look very nice. When you use outdoor lighting it is important to use safe lights designed for outdoor use. Lights usually look best when you line the house with the lights and they are in a perfect line. Some people like to use the icicle lights or sway their lighting scheme. You can do it anyway you prefer. Remember not to use a staple gun or you could cause a fire hazard with the light strands. It may be easier but it can be dangerous.
When you decorate in and outside for Christmas it can be hard to decide on a color scheme and how you are going to do it. You should always check with your neighbors if you are in a home owner’s association so you do not get fined. If your goal is to attract visitors then you want to be sure to have as much lighting as possible on the outside of your home. Remember, this can be a big electricity bill and the bright lights might shine into your neighbor’s windows and cause them to be unable to sleep.
